AltoBeam Launches New-Generation Wi-Fi 6 Chips

AltoBeam launched its new-generation 2.4GHz 1T1R Wi-Fi 6 chip family ATBM6062C in Q4 2024, which has entered mass production and regular shipment. This series of chips features substantially upgraded performance based on the well-received previous-generation ATBM6062 chip, alongside reduced power consumption and manufacturing costs. In long-range over-the-air testing, the chip delivered outstanding performance by enabling stable transmission of 4K high-definition video streams over a straight-line distance of more than 1.2 kilometers, and the test results are encouraging. Thanks to such standout performance, ATBM6062C has been rapidly adopted by multiple tier-one manufacturers within the video security and surveillance industry.

Furthermore, optimized core architecture and die size reduction enable ATBM6062C to adopt the identical package outline and pin definition long used in AltoBeam's Wi-Fi 4 chips. These legacy Wi-Fi 4 products with USB or SDIO interfaces have been widely deployed by global customers for Wi-Fi Chip-on-Board (CoB) design and mass production of end equipment. Benefiting from full pin-to-pin compatibility, existing customers can quickly upgrade their mature products from Wi-Fi 4 to Wi-Fi 6. In new product development, the shared PCB layout for both Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 6 variants effectively shorten development cycles and cuts inventory expenses, helping customers secure stronger competitiveness amid fierce market rivalry.

Fully compliant with IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), ATBM6062C supports all defined modulation modes from MCS0 to MCS11, with PHY-layer modulation up to 1024QAM and a maximum PHY data rate of 287Mbps. It fully supports exclusive Wi-Fi 6 technologies including OFDMA, MU-MIMO and DCM. Therefore, building on the remarkable performance advantages demonstrated by AltoBeam's previous-generation Wi-Fi 6 chips in the intelligent security sector, ATBM6062C maintains its leading position in wireless communication application scenarios requiring improvements in extended transmission distance, higher throughput and other aspects, covering numerous fields such as security monitoring, smart TVs, automotive equipment, mobile broadband as well as smart commercial and office terminals.
