AltoBeam Begins Mass Production of ATBM6062 Wi-Fi 6 Chip

Driven by continuous advances in communication technologies and iterative upgrades of Wi-Fi specifications, wireless routers have undergone generational upgrades from Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5 to Wi-Fi 6 in recent years, creating a perfect opportunity for Wi-Fi 6 to gain widespread adoption among terminal devices. AltoBeam has launched its newly self-developed, fully IP-owned Wi-Fi 6 chip family, the ATBM6062 series. Supporting single-antenna IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax (Wi-Fi 6), ATBM6062 incorporates exclusive Wi-Fi 6 features including OFDMA and TWT to substantially elevate user experience.

High-Speed Transmission - Compliant with MCS0 to MCS11 modulation modes defined by the Wi-Fi 6 standard, ATBM6062 supports up to 1024QAM modulation/demodulation at the physical layer with Max. PHY rate of 287Mbps. Its measured maximum throughput is nearly double that of legacy Wi-Fi 4 solutions. In terms of RF specifications, it also delivers substantially improved performance, enabling higher data rate transmission over longer distance.

Efficient Data Delivery - ATBM6062 implements core Wi-Fi 6 technologies including OFDMA and MU-MIMO, which are already widely deployed in 5G mobile communications. These technologies expand overall Wi-Fi channel capacity and spectrum efficiency, enabling routers to host a substantially larger number of connected end devices while cutting inter-device transmission latency for optimized networking experience.

Extended-Range Connectivity - Equipped with advanced Wi-Fi 6 functionalities such as LDPC coding/decoding, Beamforming, Extended Range Single User (ER-SU) frame structure and Dual Carrier Modulation (DCM), ATBM6062 achieves greatly improved receiving sensitivity and transceiver robustness under complex network conditions versus Wi-Fi 4, resulting in significantly expanded wireless coverage.
